400 BLOCK - FOURTH STREET TO MONROE STREET

Looking back west again

As mentioned earlier this house was moved here from someplace else probably sometimes in the 1960's.

Does this house look familiar? This is the coattage that was originally 432 West 4th Street. However, it got moved up to here and survived the lower south side of the street 400 Block West $th Street massacre. A little sarcastic humor there.

Those two houses on eastern end of the south side of the street are original houses. Obviously they have been well maintained. BTW George Burford, one of the 3 Burford Brothersd lived in the house on the end at one time while one of his Broithers Oliver Burford lived in the hoiuse firther down the block as 436 W. 4th Street.

These last 4 pictures are of 401 W. $th Street, again one of the original houses in this block.

First house, an original house, south side, 400 West Fourth Street as it looks today.

It propbably will only be a maater of time before this house, 401 West 4th Street, will be turned into a parking lot.

Legally speaking framing is still in a murky area of the law though there have been court cases in which framing has been seen as violation of copyright law. Many cases that were taken to court ended up settling out-of-court with the one doing the framing agreeing to cease framing and to just use a regular link to the other site.
